Park Wilderness

One way to gather together with others from Park Church is through our outdoor ministry, Park Wilderness. This ministry is member-led and exists to plan and lead outdoor trips for our community. Many of us are excited to be outside, especially during the gorgeous summer months. We believe there is so much value in disconnecting from busy life in order to connect with God and others in creation!

In specific seasons, we plan trips for all ability and experience levels. We have extra gear (tents, backpacks, etc) that we can provide, so don't let not having a few essentials hold you back from signing up. Overnight trips and Paddleboarding have a small cost associated with them and day hikes are free. If cost is an issue for any trips, please reach out as there are scholarships available that we’d love to give you.

Paddleboarding Day Trip

Saturday, June 21 • Late Morning • Bear Creek Lake Park (Big Soda Lake)

Come enjoy God's creation and time with others at Park Church out on the water. Please note that we are not arranging rentals, so if you need to rent or borrow a paddle board or kayak, please plan accordingly. The leaders of this trip can help suggest rentals spots if needed. Also note that there is a $10 fee to enter Bear Creek Lake Park. Please, no pets for this event. Please RSVP by Friday, June 20.

Backpacking Trips

Women's Backpacking Trip

Friday–Sunday, July 18–20 • Idaho Springs Area • $65/adult

Join the Park Wilderness crew and other Park Church women for some time in the woods, building community and enjoying God's creation. We'll plan the trip, prep the meals, and help you with gear you might not have. This trip will begin early on Friday morning, so please plan ahead for PTO as needed. See our other backpacking trips for co-ed options. Please, no pets on this trip. Please register by Sunday, July 11.

Backpacking Trip (Early August)

Friday–Sunday, August 1–3 • Caribou Lake Area, Indian Peaks Wilderness • $65/adult

Join the Park Wilderness crew and our Park Church family for some time in the woods, enjoying God's creation and building community. We'll plan the trip, prep the meals, and help you with gear you might not have. Please, no pets on this trip. Please register by Friday, July 25.

Cost includes campsite and food (Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast). We hope you can come and make family memories, worship God, and enjoy the outdoors together. Please, no pets on this trip. Family Camping Trip (Early August)

Friday–Sunday, August 8–10 • Woodland Park • $65/adult, $5/child

Want to enjoy time in God’s creation with our church family filled with fun activities, relaxation, and an organized trip and menu? Come camping with Park Wilderness this summer! Dogs are allowed on this trip. Please register by Friday, August 15. Please note, this trip is for adults.
