Lay Counseling Training (August 2026) Begins
Aug 9, 2026 at 11:00am
Description
In multiple places in Scripture, God calls His people to bear with one another and to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2, Philippians 2:1–4). While this includes helping others with financial burdens, we believe the call of Scripture goes further. How can we also walk beside the many in our church family who are experiencing burdens like depression, anxiety, mental illness, and grief?
One way we hope to address this need is through raising up “lay” counselors. Lay counselors are not paid church staff members, professional counselors, or mental health therapists, but are volunteers trained for the use of Scripture in a counseling setting as a tool for life change. If you are interested in being trained as a lay counselor, please use the form linked below and mark your calendars for the following training dates.
Sundays, August 9, 16, 23 & 30 • 11am–12:30pm • Location TBD
