Elevate Sunday
Sunday, June 5 • Both Services
This Sunday, June 5, will mark the start of summer in Park Church Family Ministry. We call this day “Elevate Sunday” because this is and the day all school-aged kids move up a grade in Park Kids and Park Students. For example, preschoolers entering kindergarten in the Fall will now become kindergartners at Park Kids, and fifth-graders entering middle school in the Fall will now move into Park Students for the first time as sixth graders!
Based on your child’s new grade, have them join us at Park Kids during the 9 or 11am service, or at Park Students for the Greatest Bible Study Ever at 11am.
ELEVATE SUNDAY CELEBRATION
12:30–1:30pm
Following the 11am service on that same Sunday, we will have an Elevate Sunday Celebration from 12:30–1:30pm . Pizza will be served in the Upstairs Classroom, followed by ice cream, games, and a chance to celebrate our graduates. All families are encouraged to come and kick off the summer with us!
Pentecost Worship & Prayer Night
Sunday, June 5 • 6:30pm
Pentecost is an often-underrepresented date on the Christian liturgical calendar. This day, observed on 50 days after Easter, remembers the gracious sending of the Holy Spirit to fill and empower the Church. It’s also a reminder that the Holy Spirit continues to fill and empower us to be His witnesses!
Join us as we gather with no agenda other than to reflect on and enjoy the Holy Spirit and His work through worship and prayer. Childcare is not provided at this event, but please bring your children!
Women's Summer Study
Started Wednesday, June 8 • Various Times & Locations
This summer, we’ll pick up Trillia Newbell’s study of Hebrews 11, “A Great Cloud of Witnesses: A Study of Those Who Lived by Faith”, discussing the lives of Rahab, Enoch, Gideon, Sarah, and others.
We will have a Wednesday mid-morning meeting time (with childcare) and Thursday a evening meeting time, both at the Park Church building. If neither of those times work for you, you have the option to sign up to be placed in a group. We will kick off the week of June 8 and run for 6-weeks, skipping the weeks of Park Kids Club Week (June 21–23) and the week of July 4.
Summer Meet-Up
Sunday, June 12 • 10:30am–2pm • Highland Park
A casual space to foster community! Come as an individual, as a family, or as a Gospel Community, and bring your own food, drinks, and games.
Park Kids Club
This Tuesday–Thursday, June 21–23 • Backyards All Over the City
In neighborhoods all over the city, kids age 3–grade 5 are gathering this week to learn about Jesus and His miracles. Our memory verse is Psalm 77:14, and our hope is for kids to see how good and powerful Jesus is. Join us in praying for their time!
Newcomer's Brunch
Sunday, June 26 • 9:15–10:45am • Upstairs Classroom
A casual space for anyone who feels new at Park Church to connect with other newcomers and church staff. Join us and please invite anyone else who may feel new! Kids are welcome. Breakfast is provided.
Park Singles Dinner Club
Monday, July 25 • City Wide
An informal space for connecting with fellow single Christians at Park Church. At Dinner Club, you’ll join 3–5 others for dinner at a local restaurant. We hope this will be a time to get to know others at Park Church who share a similar season in life!
Story Time Live
Wednesday, July 27 • 9:30–10:30am
One simple way to show your kids what God is like is to read Bible-based books and Bible stories to them. Join other families to hang out, make a craft, and hear Miss. Melanie read a story!
Family Fun Day
Sunday, July 31 • 5:30–8pm • Surfside Splash Pad, Lakewood (5330 W 9th Ave)
Family Fun Day is a chance to gather and have fun as families within a church family. Bring all you need for water fun as well as your dinner. There are grills at the splash pad!
Good Faith Debates: A Series with the Gospel Coalition
Various Days, Through Today, August 1 • 6–8:30pm • Park Church Building
The past couple years have been marked by deep, intense division. It’s dismaying to find those rifts running even through the church. We each feel strongly about certain issues, but it’s as if each conversation about those issues can make the division worse.
This summer we are slowing down and taking stock of how we communicate with others about contentious topics. On the nights listed below, we’ll watch a Good Faith Debate from The Gospel Coalition, each about a different current topic. Afterwards, we will look together at how the speakers exhibited charity, listening skills, logic, and respect. Lastly, we’ll consider what the Bible teaches us about communication and practice these skills together. Childcare provided with RSVP.
Men's Retreat 2022: The Love of the Father
This Friday Evening–Sunday Morning, August 12–14 • YMCA of the Rockies, Estes Park, CO • $125
Where are you emotionally and spiritually after the last few years? For many of us, the best response may be "I feel sucker-punched." Whether or not that describes you, now is a good time to return to the love of the Father.
At this year's men's retreat, we'll spend the weekend together hearing from author J. Kevin Butcher ("Choose and Choose Again," "Free"). Join us as we seek to learn to live as sons, purchased by the blood of the perfect Son.
During the day on Saturday, we'll also have several hours to simply enjoy the outdoors, either with others or by yourself. YMCA of the Rockies offers a lot to do: fly fishing, hiking, mountain biking trails (easy and free access to Rocky Mountain National Park), disc golf, basketball, volleyball, and much more.
$125 registration fee covers lodging, materials, and meals from Friday evening–Sunday morning. Registration closes this Sunday, July 31.
