In his letter to the church in Corinth, the Apostle Paul said “Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy” (1 Corinthians 14:1).
We know there has been a lot of confusion around the gift of prophecy in the Church, and each of us may have different backgrounds and experiences with it. We want to help bring clarity to this important issue while also being faithful to this Biblical command to pursue prophetic gifts.
The Prophetic Ministry at Park Church is an upcoming, member-led initiative, seeking to provide an opportunity for believers to come together to learn to hear from God more clearly.
First, our goal is to continuously lean into God’s Word to hear what He has to say about prophecy AND other gifts He has given to the church. Second, we want to to work hard, with His help, to equip our people to use all of the gifts of the Spirit to help build up and mature the body of Christ.
This will look like monthly gatherings for teaching, training, practice, and application, learning to live out the mission of Park Church (making disciples of Jesus for the glory of God and the joy of all people) by growing in intimacy with Jesus, hearing His voice, and doing His will, while exhorting, encouraging, and comforting the body of Christ.
