Lay Elder

What are your responsibilities? As a member of the Park Church elder team I, along with the other elders, am responsible for the spiritual government of the church and oversight of our covenant members Family? This year (2020) Gwen and I will celebrate 39 years of marriage. We have three adult children, Elizabeth – married to Seth Woodward, James (Jip) married to Megan Hubbard, and Adeline. We are also the blessed grandparents of Henry Hubbard and Annie Woodward. Where are you from? I grew up in small towns in Kentucky and Georgia and have lived as an adult in Houston, Boston, Atlanta, Indianapolis and Naperville, IL, prior to moving to Denver in January of 2016. Our children grew up in Indianapolis and Naperville. Education & Experience? I have a Civil Engineering degree from Georgia Tech and an MBA from Harvard. Most of my business career was spent with Trammell Crow Residential, a developer of multifamily rental communities. I was the Midwest Division Partner responsible for development, construction, and property and asset management in the Midwest part of the country. What hobbies/interests outside of work? Over the years I have enjoyed training for and participating in marathons, triathlons and other long distance adventures. I also enjoy taking advantage of skiing and hiking in the mountains of Colorado with my family and friends. I have also been known to chase a little white ball around the golf course every once in a while. And last, but not least, Gwen and I have just started taking ballroom dancing lessons!
